I’m a maker, but one of my favorite things to do other than making is supporting bad ass creatives that also make cool things. I’ve also found that there’s a spike in my serotonin when I view these pieces in my home. There’s nothing quite like having art that speaks to you in your nest. Fake Cakery
This brand has gotten *a lot of buzz lately, and there’s a reason why. Fake Cakery is the maker of kitschy and stunning sculptures, most of which with a hidden purpose (the photo here is of a small box). Some of Fake Cakery’s pieces even cater to the smoking crowd with grinders, ash trays and mini storage boxes. Get DIY if you want and pick up a fake cake kit from Jenny Lemons.
Amy Gemmell Studio
Amy gets it, in every way. Her shop features whimsical (and sometimes custom) projects that give us a distinctly 1970s vibe that we thoroughly enjoy. I HAD TO get my hands on an adorable mushroom sculpture, and I get a little burst of joy from seeing it in my home. Her art prints are inspired by the same funky style and sense of patterns.
Made for Monday
Made for Monday is a Hudson Valley New York based shop that specializes in rugs, mirrors and other tufted items (think jewelry hangers and banners with fun sayings). She made a custom commission for me back in 2021 and it’s displayed prominently on our gallery wall. The mirror pictured is not my piece, you’ll only get to see that if you come over to my house or catch a selfie from me on the ‘gram.

Let’s face it, fast fashion is destroying the planet. The fashion industry accounts for 10% of global carbon emissions, and Caro Uccellino is here to change that! There are some things in this life that we love so much, we just want to immortalize them. That’s where Juicy Rugs comes in. Almost any subject can be tufted and made into a custom rug for your home. The above resides in my sister-in-law’s house to remind everyone of their family curfew! The options are truly endless, we won’t judge.
